7 Days Tanzania Safaris
This safari within the southern Serengeti national park the Ndutu region of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area of the southern Serengeti is timed specifically with the Great Migration in the southern Serengeti national park ecosystem. The Ndutu region is one of the best places in Tanzania to visit between January and March. During this time, the Great Migration will be centered in this area – here you will bear witness to hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other mammals spread across the plains grazing on the rich short grasses. But more importantly – this is calving season for the wildebeest! You will have the opportunity to watch the incredible birthing process of baby wildebeest and see the sweet bond between the mother and baby. Of course, because of the dense population of animals during the migrations, this means that you witness predator action is at its finest! The ability to detect cheetah, lion, hyena and leopards hunting is top notch in this area.
- Activities: game drives & nature hikes/walks
- Game drives: pop-up roof 4×4 vehicle
- Getting around: pop-up roof 4×4 vehicle & hiking/walking
A transfer from and back to the airport is included

It’s the largest country in East Africa, and almost a third of the vast lands are protected for game viewing, so safari opportunities are endless and always exciting. The Ngorongoro Crater, once a enormous volcano, is the largest intact caldera in the world. After breakfast we will depart for a full-day game drive on the Crater floor, rich with wildlife. We will spend the next two days in Ndutu. We plan for twice daily game drives, once in the early morning and a second in the late afternoon. Midday we will break for a hot lunch at camp and time for some relaxation at the camp. Ndutu is part of the southern Serengeti eco-system, where over two million wildebeest, zebra, antelope and other large mammals migrate yearly in a clockwise direction from the Southern Serengeti back to the Northern Serengeti and Maasai Mara. The Ndutu area has a vast architecture, allowing for exploration a great range of habitats such as swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. This migration route happens because these animals follow the rains, in search of new grass on which to graze. The Ndutu area is famed for its short grass plains which grows grass rich in nutrients, ideal for the migrant animals and their newly borne offspring. Conventionally the wildebeest and zebra tend to calve on these grasslands at the topmost of around February which makes for a beautiful natural spectacle and some thrilling predator hunting performances.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning game drive. You will witness herds of wildebeest and zebras especially during a short time-frame from around February and lasting for about 3 weeks where majority of the wildebeest calve. In the afternoon, we will set off for Serengeti National Park.

Accommodation: Kisura Tented Camp
After breakfast, we will proceed for a full day of game drives in the wilderness of “the endless plains” of the Seronera River Valley in central Serengeti. The Seronera River Valley, located in the south-central region of the park, is one of the most popular areas in the entire reserve. Known as the Big Cat Capital of Africa, the Seronera is rich in lions, leopard and cheetah – and people often spot all three in one day of game drives. Look for leopard around the Seronera River, which is home to one of Africa’s densest populations of the big cats, while lions can often be seen on the kopjes (rocky outcrops). The Serengeti Plains – the open savanna south of the Seronera River – are prime cheetah territory. Other animals to spot in the area’s varied habitats of rivers, swamps, kopjes and grasslands include elephant, hippos and crocodiles in the rivers, buffaloes, impala, jackals and bat-eared foxes.
